Often, since they watch so much TV and are playing computer games, kids these days think that they don’t like to read. But what is so unfortunate, is that they are simply unaware of how fun reading can be. One way to slowly start encouraging them is to make it fun with a subscription to the National Magazine Exchange. If you sign up to an NME magazine on a topic that might interest them – like computers or cars; gardening or make-up – then soon enough your children might actually start asking if they can borrow your magazine. This can lead to more interest in reading and soon enough you may find yourself telling your kids it’s time to go to sleep and to “stop reading already!”
