You keep telling yourself that you will hit the gym. But somehow – especially as the nights draw in – it’s so much more tempting to just go home straight from work and cuddle up in front of the TV. But what if you gave yourself an incentive? If you get to the gym three times a week then you can treat yourself to enjoying a glossy magazine from the National Magazine Exchange. Perhaps – if you enjoy a good hot soak in the tub – you can even enjoy your magazine from the bath. Whatever it takes to push yourself a little, do it. You’ll feel so much better since a healthy body translates into a healthy mind and vice versa.
Escaping with a magazine can often bring the same benefits as a real escape bring. In other words, just because you might not have time for a 3 day retreat in a beautiful spa, setting up a spa-like environment for yourself after a hard workout at the gym, while reading about it in a magazine, can be just as – or almost as – beneficial. As well, if you are reading your magazine after you have pushed yourself, you will feel all the more virtuous with the knowledge of what you have just achieved.
